This weekly group is designed to explore the intricate dynamics of group relations through a structured yet open-ended format. The group will meet once a week for 90 minutes, providing a safe and supportive environment for participants to delve into the complexities of interpersonal relationships and group processes. It is important to note that these groups are not group therapy sessions.

Objectives

  • To enhance participants' awareness of group dynamics and their roles within a group

  • To develop skills in observing and articulating group processes

  • To foster a deeper understanding of individual behaviors and their impact on the group

Format

Each session will begin with a brief introduction by Dr. Mallick, who will set the stage for the day's focus. The group will then engage in open discussion, where members are encouraged to share their experiences and observations. Dr. Mallick will act primarily as an observer, interjecting with prompts and questions designed to guide participants in noticing and commenting on the unfolding dynamics.

Participation

Participants are encouraged to actively engage in discussions, bringing their insights and experiences to the table. The group is open to individuals from diverse backgrounds, and no prior experience with group relations concepts is necessary. The diversity of perspectives is valued as it enriches the learning experience for all members.

By the end of the workshop series, participants will have a deeper understanding of group dynamics and increased self-awareness regarding their interaction styles. They will be equipped with practical skills to apply in various group settings, enhancing their personal and professional relationships.
